Pearls - pearl drum wraps were very popular in the 60's and 70's, remember Ringo's black oyster pearl Ludwig kit.  Pearl wraps were extensively used by Ludwig and Slingerland.  During the 80's pearl wraps somewhat faded out of fashion.   However, over the past 10 years they have came back into popularity and the choice of pearl finishes has increased.
